Crosswalk Family,
Yesterday was a historic day in the history of Crosswalk Church of Daytona Beach. For over 23 years, since Jan 2003, Pastor Mitch has faithfully served Crosswalk as its founding pastor and lead teaching elder. His faithful shepherding and humble service has been a hallmark of his ministry and has impacted the lives of countless people as he’s tended Christ’s flock with precision and care.
Yesterday, he graciously passed the baton to me. In God’s providence, we had a record attendance of over 165 people including family, former members, friends from the community, current members, regular attenders and new guests.
Dr. Quinn’s message was clear and powerful. He preached with a special focus on Jeremiah 3:15 issuing a clarion call to faithfully Feed & Lead God’s People. Additonally, Pastor Mitch also issued a poingant pastoral charge to shepherd with the love of Christ Jesus, the Great Shepherd!
The charges of Dr. Quinn and Pastor Mitch have echoed in my heart since they were uttered. I can’t begin to express my joy, honor and thankfulness to be given the privilege to serve the flock of Jesus Christ at Crosswalk Church, as your pastor-teacher. I am humbled by God’s grace and provision and lean wholeheartedly on his unfailing love, and everlasting mercy to strengthen me for the task ahead.
Thank you for our overwhelming encouragement yesterday and please continue to pray for me as I promise to pray for you. My commitment to you to is be like Ezra, who set his heart to study God’s law, so that he might obey it and teach it.(Ez 7:10)Like, Paul who faithfully proclaimed the whole counsel of God, so the saints might be sanctified.(Acts 20:27) To faithfully proclaim, Christ who is the Bread of Life, the Living Water, the Great Shepherd himself who loves you eternally and gave himself for you, to present you holy and blameless before Him in the presence of the Father!
May the Holy Spirit be pleased to help Crosswalk excel still more in every good work. May we love our Triune God and one another with the all the strength that God himself supplies.
On behalf of my wife Stephanie and our children, thank you for your love these last 23 years and may you know how much we have loved you, and how we desire to express that love even more both now and forevermore.
Please know you may email me at anytime: PastorChris@CrosswalkDaytonaBeach.org
Until We See His Face,
